Born in 1988 in  South Lebanon, Karam Ghossein is a filmmaker, cinematographer and video editor, who lives in Berlin and Beirut. He holds a degree in Cinema & Television from the Lebanese University, Faculty of Fine Arts. Since 2006, he has worked in the field of cinematography on numerous short experimental, documentary and fiction films, as well as TV productions. His work has been shown at Berlinale, MoMA New York, Centre Pompidou Paris, Tribeca Doha, Guggenheim New York, among others. He recently directed his first film “Street of Death” (Lebanon, Germany/ 22″/ 2017/ Arabic with English subtitles), which was commissioned by the Lebanese Association for Plastic Arts – Ashkal Alwan (Lebanon) with support from the Robert A. Matta Foundation, and supported by the Arab Fund for Arts & Culture (AFAC). The film had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2017, where it won the Audi Short Film Award, and has screened at dozens of festivals worldwide. He is co-founder of the production company Friendly Fire Films UG in Berlin and is currently developing his first feature documentary.
